The seismic properties of the model are
- p-velocity: 5.00 km/s
- s-velocity: 3.50 km/s
- density: 2.35 g/cm^3
In the lower part of the model a direct S-wave (body waves) emerges. When the wave front touches the bottom part of the fault, some energy enters the FZ and converts into a trapped wave.
- At the beginning of the FZ-wave genesis the multiple reflections within
the FZ which which are the cause of FZ-waves can be clearly seen.
The direct S-wave touching the FZ boundary while traveling towards the surface causes a head wave within the FZ.
